I volunteered to create a t-shirt design for Protect PT (Penn-Trafford) for their community garden program. I created two designs for the project to highlight the produce grown in the community garden throughout the seasons.
Before designing the t-shirt designs, I was given two constraints.
The rules were very simple:
1. We want vegetables included in the t-shirt design
2. The word "volunteer" must be included in both designs

While in contact with Project PT, I was sent documents with the vegetables grown in the garden, and using that information, I created a few rough layouts in my sketchbook, figuring out the arrangement of the vegetables for the back of the t-shirt.

Utilizing the first sketch (above), I vectorized the drawing on Adobe Illustrator before selecting and arranging the text around the drawing.
Stylistically, I was inspired by infographic t-shirts to create a flat-lay design.
For the second design, I wanted to bring out the importance of community gardens and sustainable farming.
So, for the design, fashioned the globe using the seasonal produce grown at RIFS as the focal point of the design.
