I was asked to create a logo for this project to define Aravera Textiles, a Bolivian, Female Run, Indigenous textile business.

Both Logos

For this project, I wanted to create a set of logos that captured the handmade nature of the business I was representing.
For the first row of designs, I drew inspiration from Pachamama, the Mesoamerican Goddess of the Earth. As a parallel, this logo also highlights that Aravera Textiles is a business started by Indigenous and local Bolivian women.
The second row, with the llama, was inspired by llamas' role in Indigenous culture. The style of the logo draws from the blocky visual aesthetic of the motifs woven into traditional Bolivian handicrafts.
This new set of logo designs is a redesign of my original design from a year ago. To reflect my new aesthetic as a graphic designer, I created these.

Initial Logo Sketches

Before coming up with the final logos (above) I created a set of rough logo sketches.
After a series of conversations with my client, she sent me reference images with Indigenous textile patterns, which inspired me to create these rough, little drawings.
I also played with text placement across these logos as well.
